What do you know about two atoms if their atomic numbers are different

an atomic number tells you how many protons are in an atom so if their atomic numbers are different, you know that one has more or less protons than the other. for example, sodium (Na) has the atomic number 11, so you could say it has 3 more protons than nitrogen (N), which has an atomic number of 7.
