The slope is -1

Use the formula:   [tex]  \frac{y_{2} - y_{1} }{ x_{2} - x_{1} } [/tex]
Or in this case:     [tex] \frac{6-8}{4-2} [/tex]
Once you simplify,  you should get:     [tex] \frac{-2}{2} [/tex]       which simplifies further to -1
