Multiplying both sides by the LCD (x + 2)(x - 1); -3x + 7 = A(x - 1) + B(x + 2). Substitute x - 1 = 0, or x = 1 we have -3 + 7 = 3B ;B = 4/3. Substitute x + 2 = 0, or x = -2 we have 6 + 7 = -3A ; A= -13/3. Example 2: Decompose the following rational expression into partial fractions
