How does arable land play an important role in a nation’s development?

If a nation has arable land, that means they are able to grow crops.
Arable land --> Agricultural prosperity/productivity --> Increase in population, development of specialized jobs because people no longer had to only focus on growing crops and could use surplus of crops to participate in --> Large population --> Need for government/order.
