12 divides by 4 would be 3

So 3x

Plus the exponents so

The answer is 3x exponent 7

so like normal you divide the coefficients which gives you 3
then you have x^5/x^2
the rule of exponent is that if you multiply add the exponent numbers, and as always multiplication is opposite to division so u subtract 
x^5-3
which gives you x^2
the final answer is 3x^2
