What is alveoli?

Alveoli are the air sacks we have in our lungs, that help us during respiration with gas exchange.

Consequences:

If we damage our alveoli, we'll have serious problems breathing since the gas exchange in our lungs won't be the same, and the concentrations of different gases in our lungs will change, and depending on what those gases are (CO2 is among those gases), we can have serious problems, even cardiovascular ones.

Hope it helped,
